If you find yourself in Lampang going on route 120 off of route 118 between Chiang Rai towards Phayao maybe well you are in Doi Luang National park in Lampang province section you should stop off at the Tarn Tong waterfall. It by no means is a Niagara Falls even by Thai standards but it makes a nice break, as well, there you can have great Mango salad or other Thai dish or just a soft drink to help make the trip a little more than a straight through run between Chiang Mai and Phayao.

The Tarn Tong falls are only about 200 meters off the main road and is clearly marked. I personally enjoyed people watching as many Thai stop and relax in the coolness of the forest and pools they are not really deep enough to swim but a walk up too your knees does feel good in April heat.
