Thai Restaurants - North Cusine

Kho Soy Sutansinee

For those that are a little more adventitious than a farang owned tourist restaurant to eat the truly Chiang Mai dish of Kho Soy. That is a special spicy coconut curry with egg noodles and normally chicken. It is served here with the true Burmese authentic influence.  The decor may not be 5 star or over even one star, but the taste is what it is all about.

To go there go to the lane of the Empress Hotel  located on Chang klan road and head toward the river  (left from night market) you will see it.

It is of course like all great Kho Soy restaurants it is open for lunch only  and closes about 4:00 pm

Chiang Rai

on the bank of the Kok River within town area, contains what is believed to be the oldest Holy Relic even before King Mengrai built Chiang Rai. Doi Chom Thong has been a sacred site for aextremely long time. The site was surely reverenced as the home of local spirits before Buddhism arrived in the area.
