Croston House Children’s Home

E-mail Print PDF

While the children at Croston House Children’s Home are not orphans as such, these children come from families that have been seriously affected by drugs and other addictions, HIV/AIDS and other diseases, parents in prison or families that are simply unable to afford to provide for the children properly.

The children’s home officially opened in Lamphun on the Queen’s birthday, August 12th, 2006 and has to date cared for 41 children in need. Some of them have been simply abandoned with other relatives after their parents left the family home and did not return. Without the help and support from the foundation, they had nowhere else to turn to.

The Croston House Children’s Home is currently located in Makrua Chae (a district in Lamphun) It is situated in the northern part of Lamphun, about 4 kms from the Chiang Mai-Lamphun highway and is about half an hour’s drive from the centre of Chiang Mai. The children's home presently provides 29 children, 19 boys and 10 girls, from provinces throughout central and northern Thailand. It provides the best care possible in a loving, family environment. These children, who are all Thai and aged between 22 months and 15 years old, are given the opportunity to complete their education and are therefore also given the chance of a much brighter future later on in life.
